I have been neglecting my blog of late.  I have had so much going on including the setting up of my etsy shop - LettuceCelery -  which has opened TODAY!  Hooray.

At the moment I have my Christmas cards on sale and in the near future I will be putting up prints, posters, badges, cards and more cards so please do take a look.

Any Christmas card orders will currently be delivered FREE in the UK so delight your friends with a LettuceCelery Christmas Card!

I have made these posters for my daughters bedroom and I love doing them.  Trouble is the shed is now getting a bit cold for screen printing but maybe the winter will be for planning.

It is Children's Book Week this week so this is my contribution to encourage children to get down to their local library and thoroughly enjoy a lovely book.

"Oona and Goose were having such a fun day together but Oona knew that Goose would have to go home and things would go back to how they always had been.  She tried very hard not to think about it."

A series of pigs that I have been meaning to do for such a long time but finally - here they are!!

Monday, 17 September 2012

Despite Oona's obvious talent at balloon modelling Goose was always worried that with that one final twist the whole thing might BURST.

Every night, as darkness fell, Johnny's imagination ran wild.

"As quickly and quietly as possible Tabitha replaced the King's teacup with the identical one she had collected from Mr Souchong."

I now have a facebook page for my illustration on which I will post not just things from this blog but also info on other illustrators who I like and admire so please come and take a look.  Link is here on the left.

I screen printed some designs onto envelopes today.  It was lovely to be back at my screen and even nicer to make fancy envelopes to send to people.

Look at this lovely cake stand I made this weekend!  I am so pleased with it and now plan to make many more so I can start selling them.  So many ideas, so little time.

Work in progress for another book idea though I haven't quite worked out the ending.  I thought I had which is why I started some spreads but now I have changed my mind and very much hoping that a great ending comes to mind soon. Making alphabet posters and lampshades is an awful lot easier than writing books.

I haven't made him ROAR yet but I have given him a world in which to start his travels.  Now I will go and make him ROAR.

There is a new lion in town and I kind of like him.  Now I've got to make him ROAR.

Here is the final print for Bear in the Bath the first of my alphabet posters, only 25 letters to go!!

And this is the little girl who will have these hanging in her new bedroom.  Fortunately her name is only 3 letters long so she won't have too long a wait before they are all finished.

Thursday, 31 May 2012

My first screenprint in my new studio is well under way and it is so nice to be out of the house and not have to constantly move things and put things away.

Friday, 18 May 2012

A mega rough for an alphabet poster and I haven't quite worked out how I am going to do them.  Originally I was going to screen print but I'll rough the other letters and see what happens.  I'm quite enjoying the collage effect at the moment.

This is one of my background girls but I still kind of like her.  My background people are my major focus at the moment.  It's lots of fun creating lots of different characters and as the story progresses I think I might have to give some of them some starring roles.

Friday, 27 April 2012

A little character study for one of the ideas I am working on at the moment.

All together now....

A 'Happy Birthday to You' card for my brother.

Wednesday, 4 April 2012

The return home after a hard day.
This is half a painting that will eventually turn into a double page spread. The time will come when I will really have to invest in an A3 scanner.

Monday, 2 April 2012

This is Oona and that is her goose. Just the start of an idea.

Friday, 2 March 2012

I cut the lino and my husband took the rubbing. It works better than the print did but that might have been down to terrible old inks.

Friday, 24 February 2012

I tried to do something else but ended up playing with crayons and drawing one more mouse. Time to move on.

My mice have been driving me slightly crazy but here are two that I quite like. I might have to walk away from them for a while and work on something else before I start banging my head on the table.

Emmental was by far the most popular exhibit at Morris' Cheese Museum...

A work in progress.

Due to a distinct lack of time at the moment I am experimenting with the single colour screen print. These are just a starter but I feel there may be bigger and better to come.
